It has none of the hallmarks of a programming problem, and certainly nothing to 
do with what macOS version you’re running. It does have hallmarks of your not 
copying over all of your GnuCash files to your new computer, in partifcular 
~/Library/Application Support/gnucash/ and ~/Library/Application 
Support/Preferences/org.gnucash.GnuCash.plist. The first is a directory and the 
second is a file. ‘~’ means your home directory, probably /Users/jim unless you 
overrode that when setting up your computer. Please see

you need to transfer when moving computers and where they live.
