there are many go servers online and there used to be (at least) one open 
source a few years ago. source code is still available at...
  http://sourceforge.net/projects/nngs/

i've been planning on playing with it, but don't have time.

anyways, it works on the "igs protocol", so there's even clients that
work with the server already.

if you manage to get the server up and running. maybe people will 
hack clients and the server... at least i'll play a game with you on it. ;)
