@Richard. 1) Thanks for the input. Your detailed analysis hopefully helps to identify the areas that need work.

Richard, please email me personally if needed to make me understand your modus operandi. The truth is I don't understand the ongoing discussion that will lead nowhere. Let me once agian and hopefully for the last time provide my perception of the discussion. > From > my observation of the what your gui attempts to do, it should be a simple > matter of switching the events over to another screen design such as the > one > I've posted. Yes, Richard, Your design looks nice and you tell us it is very fuctional (which all of us believe I think). I am not going to shout but here come two important messages. 1) You posted designs! You did *not* post anything more useful. The design tells us that you have excellent ideas. But it does not provide the code at a level it actually can replace the depreciated design. I tell you a little secret here. It took me 1 minute to write a new ugly notebook plugin based on other ugly notebook plugins. That is exactly why my code is ugly notebook plugins. It is not that I like those! To be fair I have not even considered reading up on how to do it your way. I was simply to lazy. So the only way to change that is to make your design so superior and well documented that I will be ashamed if I ever use an ugly notebook again. I know that is not fair but that is the way it is. IMHO you have made a great start with the gui demo, persistent discussion, posting screenshots. But unfortunately this has not been enough. I hate to admit it but I think the only way to make sure others will follow your ideas is to lead me/us in terms of GUI. 2) Gnumed is all about *doing* it. There is absolutely not value in asking another developer to switch designs or whatever. *You* must *lead* Select one (1) plugin and start connecting it the way you would like us to do it. Stick to this one plugin. Code it, document it, announce it, maintain it. Meanwhile forget about all but the one plugin until you have finished one (1). Trust me. I know what I am talking about. I have ideas for starting more than 10 businesses but don't get around doing one thin properly. Therefore I have decide to absolutely focus on a release. One (1) task. If I have perceived the situation completely wrong please accept my appologies. That way you can make up the central progress notes panel > properly now. I have not yet reviewed all postings on this matter but if I understand Richard correctly he asks why we don"t use his design of an ugly notebook design. Correct me if I am wrong. This is my perception. -- ************************************************************************* * * help solving the protein folding problem foldingathome.stanford.edu * * sign the linux driver petion : http://www.libranet.com/petition.html * ************************************************************************* DSL Komplett von GMX +++ Supergnstig und stressfrei einsteigen!
