Usually, the screen saver will be activated by the OS well before 
hibernation begins.

Maybe an option could be to have GnuPG clear all its processes once 
the screen saver goes on, or in a user-settable time after the 
screen saver is activated, i.e,  1, 3, 5, or 10 min, or custom user-
set time, with a default at 3 min.
