I just installed GnuPG 2.5.8., and immediately ran into issues with with it.

The first issue was encrypting data: when attempting to encrypt a message,
I got the following error message:

gpg: pubkey_encrypt failed: Invalid data
gpg: build_packet(PLAINTEXT) failed: Invalid data
gpg: lorum_ipsum_setup.txt: sign+encrypt failed: Invalid data

When attempting to decrypt a reply from the nymserver, I got the following:

gpg: encrypted with secp256k1 key, ID 0xDEADBEEF, created 2025-06-23
      "Lorum Ipsum <[email protected]>"
gpg: public key decryption failed: Bad secret key
gpg: decryption failed: Bad secret key

Needless to say, 2.5.6. performed flawlessly.

N.B.: Because encryption failed using 2.5.8., I went back to 2.5.6. to encrypt
the setup message to the nymserver. When I got an encrypted reply from the
nymserver, and used 2.5.8. to decrypt it, I got the above error message.

Again, 2.5.6. handled it flawlessly.

Any ideas? I havae never seen anything like this before.

Lorum_Ipsum
