 Once a user logs out from GNOME either implicitly or explicitly
 by pressing CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to kill Xorg, it's likely that
 subsequent login attempt will fail and GNOME login will not
 progress any further than the GDM greeter.

 Initial evaluation reveals that several daemons (e.g. dbus and
 FAM-related) could be the reason for this.  Further investigation
 is needed to root cause the issue.
