I've been doing some testing with MPlayer.
Without ldt_keeper_sol10x86.patch, win32 codecs result in a crash in
loader/ldt_keeper.c. See

Gentoo has a gcc4 patch against 1.0_pre7try2. It can be fetched from
[http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/blfs/svn/m/MPlayer-1.0pre7try2-gcc4-1.patch]
libvo/vo_sdl.c and libao2/ao_sdl.c duplicate setenv(), breaking
compilation. Commenting out the duplicate implementation seems to work.
Some Quicktime audio (many movie trailers, for example) supported by the
win32 codec doesn't work in 1.0_pre7 but does work in 1.0_pre5try2, but I
haven't found a gcc4 patch for pre5, and the changes required look non-
trivial.
