Upon a successful login, the GNOME splash screen stays up until
user clicks on it; this isn't the intended behavior as it's
supposed to clear on its own. Brief investigation reveals that
it's still waiting for some GNOME-related services (perhaps the
Nautilus) to finish loading. More investigation is needed.
