This isn't a bug, per se.  There are many revisions of Intel/PRO
chip and you happen to have one in your machine which hasn't been
fully tested with iprb.  Nevertheless, it may Just Work by adding
a correct driver alias to it, such as what you've done.

BTW, I believe the correct entry in /etc/driver_aliases is:

   iprb "pci8086,1050"

Why do you believe the correct entry is iprb "pci8086,1050" instead of iprb "pci8086,303a" ? I originally added both but removed 1050 as it was not necessary.

Also, you don't really need to worry about devicedb/master file
now that Solaris doesn't use real mode driver any longer.

Ok cool, I will remove the entry from there and test it.

Keep using your machine and if you don't notice any problems
then let me know; I can extend iprb to support that particular
Intel/PRO chipset in NexentaOS.  It would also make sense to
let Sun know about this, so that they can make similar changes.

Will do.
