This is a good plan. I would suggest using the .deb sources available
from http://claws.sylpheed.org/ubuntu/breezy/ (ver 2.0.0rc2) as well as
the plugins. I stress version 2.0.0rc2 - which, BTW, has been very
stable for me (under inux and gnusol) - because of the RSSyl plugin
which requires sylpheed-claws version 2.x.x. Trust me, once you give it
a try you'll really miss it if it's not available.

Rssyl is an RSS feed reader "extension" for sylpheed-claws which allows
you to subscribe to any number of feeds and read/surf (with the dillo
plugin) them along with your email. There's an intro to RSSyl on the
author's blog http://dev.gentoo.org/~ticho/blog/ about 1/3 of the way
down from Nov. 27/05 titled "RSSYL - THE LITTLE PLUGIN THAT COULD"

I saw on Planet Sylpheed that 2.0.0 final release should (could?) be
released any day now as they were one man page and the translations
away from being done and thus could be made available with beta1 (and
for alpha 2 ??).

BTW, apparently the developers are considering a name change for
sylpheed-claws-gtk2 by dropping the gtk2 part - which is already evident
in the naming of 2.0.0rc2.

Anyway, the above are my feelings (suggestions) about the subject and
you are, of course, completely free to just ignore me.

Regards,
Myles (dustypup)
