 I installed the cupsys, cupsys-bsd, and cupsys-client packages. I
manually started cupsd and used the gnome printer setup program to set up
my HP Deskjet printer. It all seemed to go smoothly, but nothing prints.

Looking at /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, I see a few things that don't look right.
 For example,

 Printcap /var/run/cups/printcap

On my system, there is no /var/run/cups directory, although /etc/printcap
is a (bad) symlink that points to /var/run/cups/printcap. Also, the
"PrintcapFormat Solaris" line is commented out.

Do I need to edit the cupsd.conf or client.conf files? Do I need to
 install other software (eps-ghostscript maybe?)

CUPS printing works fine in Debian Sarge on the same hardware.
