------------------------------+---------------------------------------------
In a machine with 320MB of memory, and ACPI tables at 64MB, GRUB tries
loading the miniroot into the first 64MB. Using the uppermem command of
GRUB in various places only results in

krtld: error during initial load/link phase
 panic: failed to boot kernel/unix
 Press any key to reboot

 ***

 The output without uppermem is:

Booting 'Nexenta OS "Elatte" InstallCD [32-bit, Verbose]

 root (cd)
Filesystem type is iso9660, using whole disk
 kernel /boot/multiboot kernel/unix -v
 [Multiboot-elf, <0x1000000:0x13aa3:0x128a5>, shtab=0x10271e0,
 entry=0x1000000]
 module /boot/miniroot

Error 12: Selected item cannot fit into memory

 Press any key to continue...

 ***

The machine is a 400MHz Pentium II (Dell Dimension XPS R400) and there is
no BIOS option to disable ACPI. I have updated the BIOS to the newest
 version (A13).
