Just an update to let you know how far I have (or haven't) made it :-)

I spent most of yesterday (01-01-06) evening and a good chunk of the
wee hours of today (01-02-06) going through the HackZone. Then I slept
on it for a few hours and re-read parts of it, did the email thing and
then went back to bed for a few more hours. After that I installed
ROX-Filer (2.4.1) from source and generally explored the system some
more. Late this afternoon I took the plunge and applied for a HackZone
Membership, created the wiki page [1], then sent a notification email to
Erast. This evening has been spent reading from the Debian Developers'
Corner and just now I took a wee break from reading the Debian Policy
Manual. Man! Is there ever a ship load information to digest! By the
time I get around to learning how to build packages my brain could be
leaking from my ears but that's a risk I'm willing to take :-)
