Hi I seem to be experiencing some difficulty booting back into GNU/Solaris after having to boot into Linux. :-(
Some background info: I installed GNU/Solaris to the first drive (on Dec. 31) and set up chain-loading from the Linux GRUB installation, I was able to boot back and forth from GNU/Solaris --> Linux --> GNU/Solaris without errors. Once I was running GNU/Solaris I stayed there for 5+ days and ran 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' on a daily basis. I also installed several user-space applications and two window managers. I've been forced to run Linux since Friday evening and, while I'd have content with this until just recently, I am finding myself longing to get back to GNU/Solaris ASAP. When I try to boot GNU/Solaris I get as far as the first six or so lines of text in the GNU/Solaris boot-screen (after GRUB) and then the system reboots. I might add that I have not yet tried to boot into single-user mode but I don't think that will make any difference. Except for a few files that I'd like to have, I don't have a problem re-installing GNU/Solaris. Would I be able to access those files using the Live-CD? If so then I could just email them to myself via web-mail and reinstall but if I'm going to go that far... how long is it until Elatte alpha2 is released?? Suggestions? TIA, Myles -- You will always have good luck in your personal affairs. _______________________________________________ GNU/Solaris Users mailing list [email protected]
