Hi All!

I just found this project on the net (LWN yearly summary!) and I find it very
interesting! Congratulations for the great idea and solution -> as I can see
from package lists and updates! I'll just start the download.

What is the status of the CDDL/GPL licence incomatibilty?

As far as licensing, using NexentaOS is as risky as using Solaris. Which is
about as risky as using SCO-threatened Linux.

Solaris 10 and Solaris Express both contain plenty of GPL components. Solaris
Express contains OpenSolaris bits, which means that the kernel and core
libraries are CDDL as well. Sun Microsystems distributes Solaris Express on a
single DVD. This same DVD contains GNOME. This same GNOME is linked to
CDDL-licensed C library.

And so on.

During the last couple months we talked to quite a few people in
the community. The consensus is that what seems to be an issue is in fact a
non-issue. We are on pretty solid ground here.

What solution and when do you plan to supply? I can find no news on the internet since the initial announcement and the reactions.

Thanks, Ferenc
