Due to being xml docbook can be easily converted to other systems like
tex.  So aesthetics shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't consider tex inappropriate for documentation but I argued in
favour of docbook because it's easier to process (different output
formats, etc.).

Probably it depends on your way of life.  By using markup-based things
all the time maybe I've just lost my sense for doing it any other way.
