Here's what FD.o defaults are: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-user-dirs/tree/user-dirs.defaults The documented way to obtain these is to source ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/user-dirs.dirs which should be created or updated at login time. https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/xdg-user-dirs/ Whether we choose to adopt this or not (e.g. by returning /additional/ directories) is a distraction here :-) because we should default to other implementations' behavior. >
