I *prefer* to create a branch and then create a PR for review so that my
work can be assessed prior to inclusion into master.   So I, personally,
follow "gitflow" more than anything else.   It is not a requirement, but it
is MY preference.  How you do it is up to you.   I have been meaning to
mention to the group the idea of adopting gitflow officially so that we can
have a more controlled "master" branch in all of the repos, but we are
simply not big enough at this point to make that practical.

So, in short, it's up to you. :)
