Selma Carvalho is currently working on her fourth book on the Goan presence in
East Africa, titled, a Brief History of Goans in Zanzibar, 1865-1910. This will
be a comprehensive history about the pioneer Goans who arrived in Zanzibar in
the 1800s and early 1900s. She has managed to interview the descendants of
almost all the premier Goans of this time. However she has not been able to
make contact with the descendants of Domingos Baptista Pereira known in
Zanzibar as D. B. Pereira. Of particular interest is his son-in-law, Pedro
Francisco de Souza married to Emmelina Pereira. P. F. de Souza was originally
from Velsao but she has not be able to trace his descendants there. Please do
contact her on [email protected] if you can help.
Many thanks,Selma
