Among the topics discussed will be:1. The unusual role played by the Portuguese Consulate in Zanzibar established in 1885, which was always under the influence of Goans. It played a pivotal role in creating a quasi-ruling class amongst Goans, which asserted judicial authority and enjoyed an early sense of autonomy. 2. The racism inflicted and endured by Goans in Zanzibar, and the mild complicity of Goans in the slave trade. 3.
