I believe it is Navelim in the island of Divar.
The Portuguese called Divar the “Rome of the Hindu religion.” Mainly because of the tirtha at the temple of Saptanatha.

Was it at Navelim as it is in South Goa? Miramar is today part of Panjim. There is of course a Navelim on the Island of Divar

To my Hindu friends,
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!
When the Portuguese arrived in Goa in 1510, there was a beautiful and famous temple of Ganesh in Navelim. The temple was demolished around 1540.
During the Portuguese rule, the feast of Ganesh was celebrated at night because the Portuguese initially would not allow the Hindus to celebrate their festivities during daytime. A long procession took an image of Ganesh in triumph to Miramar where it was thrown in the sea. Eventually the religious intolerance eased and ceased but the tradition of celebrating it at night continued.
