Hi

Based on a decision by the National Research Council, all publications produced
in Swiss National Science Foundation-funded projects are to be OA as of 2020:
http://www.snf.ch/en/researchinFocus/newsroom/Pages/news-171213-100-percent-open-access-to-snsf-research.aspx

<http://www.snf.ch/en/researchinFocus/newsroom/Pages/news-171213-100-percent-open-access-to-snsf-research.aspx>

In order to achieve that goal the existing OA-Policy has been changed, starting
in April 2018:
http://www.snf.ch/en/theSNSF/research-policies/open-access/Pages/default.aspx#OA%202020%20Policy

<http://www.snf.ch/en/theSNSF/research-policies/open-access/Pages/default.aspx#OA
 2020 Policy>

Probably the most significant change is that the SNSF will insist that articles
that are not published Gold OA in the first place, must be available Green OA
at latest 6 month after publication date. In case a journal/publisher does not
allow self-archiving of the accepted version within 6 months, this journal/
publisher cannot be selected by authors anymore.

On the other hand the SNSF continues the funding of articles and books and now
also for book chapters. Hybrid OA will not be funded.

Best regards

Christian Gutknecht
