Dear Mario,

Give me email IDs of people from Calangute/Candolim who are anywhere in the
world. Let us build a group.

Invariably people write or telephone home. The news will spread that way.

A lot of canvassing for politicians is done this way if you have noticed on
the net. People abroad even sponsor advertisements in local newspapers.

  Mog asundi.

I am not from any of these areas but I don't mind being moderator and
volunteering my time if I am in Goa then. That is three volunteers, my daughter
will be 9 years old and loves Goa as much as we do!

Any more volunteers for a November-December, 2008 BEACH CLEANING DRIVE?

Can we have a Net Group for the Baga-Calangute-Candolim-Sinquerim beach belt?
If someone will send me email IDs of TEN residents from these villages who
would be interested, I will create the yahoogroup ....and even Moderate it till
someone takes over.

YES, we need GOLDEN BEACH from TAJ TO BAGA BACK from all those who think they
own this piece of paradise and already turned into devils inn.
For bonfire, Lets get the wood from the ministers /panchayat members as they do
not use the "CHUL" anylonger for they live on fast jumping chicken type food by
easy incoming gandhi notes which has turned them blind(kud'dee ani KHOD'DEE-
Bald(brain)). For those who depend on Shacks, surely you do continue your hard
work but strictly restricting the beds so that whitemeat is not easily
available and tempt samsons and that you dont have to add more police/doctors
umbrellas to cover up the same. GOT IT.

            Dear Benedict,

One would have expected that at least the Goa Tourism Department would
realise that the beach is for the people ... not the shack owners! If they find
it is not profitable to run a shack without beach/sun-beds, no one is forcing
them to build a shack in the first place. Even the High Court orders are
treated with contempt and the Court has failed to summon and imprison the
contemptors even for a day each to send a strong message.

I would support a movement of the people to uproot all beach beds ...of
5-star hotels and shack owners and have a bornfire at the beginning of the next
tourist season. Let the beach-bed owners take this as a six months/ 180 days
notice. Their time starts NOW.We need to reclaim our space.

         Hi Miguel,

Just wondering what slum-ming of Baga you are refering to.Being a resident
of Calangute myself the only slum-ming around I know of is done by our own dear
Calangutkars or Kongottkars.

And there is the slum-ming of the waterfront ,the Govt has given too many
licences to too many shacks, that there is a few meters distance between them.
Not to mention the crowded sunbeds and umbrellas almost touching the waves. With
this there is very little or no beach left at all.And if you happened to be a
local, you cant sit in front of their shack without ordering a drink or two or
you will be asked politely to sit at the side ,cause its causing a hinderence
to their customers.I dont want to talk about the drug issue here as its been
discussed a lot these days by the local and international press.
There is no beach left anymore...where will our children play?

No group in Calangute or Candolim that I know of ...though the area needs such
a group if the slum-ming of Baga is not to be repeated all over the beach front.

Together Everyone Achieves More. Time to learn the T.E.A.M. spirit. Individuals
have fought against hill cutting ...and suffered. A group is lot more difficult
to take on. I am marking a copy to people who can change things on the
beachfront.

Mog asundi.
