Dear Frederick,
Konkani SMSes via mobile phones have been in existence for at least three
years. With Cecil Pinto and me in the loop, can jokes and [sick?] humour be
far behind? ;-)
There are others, too. Sample this on Goa Univerisity [GU] debate sent from
Mumbai.
Payxentt: Dotor maka 'normal' hagonk zai-na.
Dotor: Normal o nu tem hanv sangtam. Tum sanga so kitem zata tem!
Payxentt: Borem, borem! Bushtoch tapo nakai. Maka zata tem hem: Panv khalear
panv bhair yeta ani chone khalear chone.
Dotor: Tor tuka kitem zai? Chone khalear chiken bhair yevpak?
Payxentt: Na dotor, hagta tem 'normal' zavpak zai.
Dotor: Ha! toxem? Toxem zalear GU kha! ;-)
Looks like the people from Delhi understood the joke faster!
Mog asundi

If someone wants to promote Konkani in the mobile space, it might be a
good idea to share Konkani-based SMS jokes, which can then grow via a
viral effect... Just a suggestion. Anyone with the skills? FN
