And finally history has been created on Konkani Stage on 25th September 2009 when first time in the history a Konkani Tiatro, Rosary Ferns' Tiatro ‘KUWAIT SODDUN VETANA” was staged by the Mangaloreans at American International School Auditorium, Maidan Hawally, Kuwait with a capacity crowd of over a thousand. At least 25% of the audience were Goans who along with Mangaloreans enjoyed the Tiatro consisting of main play associated with hilarious comedy performed by Stephan Machado and his partners. The major roles in the play were played by Cynthia Pinto as a mother who proved to be much better than any Goan lady performing such roles in Goan Tiatros in Kuwait, Joyline and Renny Menezes as daughters – in – law, Jayson Lasrado and Anil Menezes as sons and Jovita as a dejected Kuwaitkar wife. The only Goan to act in this play was Bernardo Fernandes who played the role of a Kuwaiti, of course to the satisfaction of the houseful audience. Among the singers, Rosary Ferns was the only singer who rendered his song “Dinaracho Valor” to the thunderous applauding of the entire hall. The other singers who sang their songs were visiting artistes stylish Norbert Pereira from Qatar and Max Simon from Mangalore. Among the local Mangaloreans who rendered their songs were Jovita sisters - Joyline & Jovita, melodious singer Gladis Lorena and Valerian D’Souza. As a special booster to this show, special dance items were performed under the guidance of Sunil and Jyoti Noronha. During the interval, as a script writer, Rosary Ferns was presented with a Memento by the organizers. Lancy Rodrigues who directed this show deserves highest compliments along with his colleagues namely Anand D’Dousa, Jaison Lasrado, Kiran Gonsalves and Steevan Mesquith for successfully staging this Tiatro first time in the history of Goans and Mangaloreans. Musical score was provided by Salvador Rebello, Brian Rebello, Andrew Fernandes, Sunith Noronha, Vincent Braganza and Austin Salins. As announced from the stage Malyalis also requested Rosary Ferns for the script to stage it in their Malyalam language. A. Veronica Fernandes, Kuwait.
