During this festive season, I have seen with amusement some Catholic Ministers giving out bags of sugar, rice etc in their constituencies and mostly to the underprivileged. The latter will probably ease their conscience and help them sleep well at night; as it is a good gesture in appreciation/thanks of keeping them in power, to collect bags of cash and other monetary benefits via excessive corruption, bribes, excessive/illegal mining, illegal land conversions, kickbacks, facilitating sale of Goan land to outsiders, Support for demography changing & migrant attractive mega-projects; they with their selfish motives are gradually destroying Goa & its identity. Well at least one credit I can give them, is that they perfected the art of manipulating democracy in Goa; of course with additional help from migrant vote-banks!!
