With Manipur in the news (in such a bad way), here are two Goa-related links to that distant part of India: Desmond Anthony Bellarnine Coutinho, a Goan expat in the UK, got into the news due to his connections with Irom Chanu Sharmila, the "Iron Lady of Manipur", who became the world's longest hunger striker (16 years) for the lifting of the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act in that region.
Some on this group might also know the late Prof KJ Mahale, the former Vice-Chancellor (founding, I think) of the Manipur University.
