The Panjim Municipal Council has threatened to start criminal proceedings against the Water Supply Division, Public Works Department, if they do not finish their work of digging the pavements along the Rua de Ourem creek within a week. The PWD had started digging the pavement along the Rua de Ourem creek about a fortnight ago, carrying out work to do with the water supply in the city. This water supply line apparently is a main line which comes from outside the city, and is then distributed within the city. PMC chairperson Ashok Naik, has given the PWD a weeks time to finish this work, say PMC officials, and if they do not carry out the work in time, they will take criminal proceedings against them.
