Hi all ! The Goan Association of New Jersey in the east coast of the U.S.A celebrated the World Goan Heritage Day at its annual picnic at the Princeton Country Club in West Windsor.
The ten -minute "gig" was started with a brief explanation about the World Goa Heritage Day, and this was followed by a short speech by Tony Barros who read excerpts from an opening address made by Montreal-based Cheryl Braganza at her recent art exhibition in the Canadian city. Some members led by the famous one-man band of Bombay's former Jerry Coutinho sang Basilio Magno's ever-popular "Proud To Be a Goan" song. (Jerry, who has played at some of Taj's hotels in India is now based in Hazelton in Pennsylvania). rgds. Tony Barros.
