LEARNING ABOUT PLANTS The rains have come back again and so has the interest in plants. FULRANI (meaning Queen of flowers) programme is telecast on Panaji Doordarshan (National Channel) every Friday from 7.25 p.m. to 7.40 p.m. in a 15 minutes slot. I have been receiving positive feedback from plant lovers, whether they are members of the Botanical Society of Goa or not.

Three episodes have been telecast so far 1. Environment and potting of plants. 2. Hibiscus and its care and 3. Bonsai. The episode on Bonsai featuring Dr. Sudhanshu Saigal was excellent. I missed the telecast due to a meeting of Rotary Editorial Committee. It was good to watch its recording. On Video. This Friday you can see Rozendo Mendonsa of Mr. Farmer fame on Fulrani. On Independence Day it is the Plant Mela at Govt College, Khandola. From 23 to 25 August will be the eleventh annual festival of Plants & Flowers at SFX High School, Siolim.
