As a symbolic protests, copies of the Panaji City Corporation Bill, 2002, were burnt after the rally culminated near the Customs House, Panjim. (H)

A recent unearthing of a cache of around 700 monitor lizard skins (locally called "gar") at Xelpem, Mapusa, has indicated the existence of a rampant trade in selling and making of "ghumot".
