        ... Goan literary culture has been consistently 
        dominated by Brahmins, both Catholic and Hindu, who 
        were wedded by upbringing and world view to the
        classical opinions of their respective religions. In
        addition, Goan interpreters of Goa to the rest of
        the world, especially to the Lusitanian world, have
        been Catholic Brahmins or at least Goans who took 
        Catholic Brahmin culture as 'typifying' Goan tradition.
        
        Catholic Brahmin houses became 'Goan architecture',
        their food became 'Goan cuisine', their songs and
        dances became 'Goan music'....
