Dr. Louis Vernal Principal GVM's College of Education Ponda Goa ------------------------------------------------------- Press Release IGNOU Study Centre at GVM's College of Education Study Centre 0806P for the B.Ed. course conducted by the Indira Gandhi National Open University will be inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Goa University, Prof. P.S. Zacharias, on 30th January 2003 at 3.00 pm. Officials from IGNOU?s Regional Centre at Bangalore are also expected as also academicians and educational administrators from Goa. The induction of the first batch of 94 trainees will also be held on the same day. These teacher-trainees are from Goa and the neighbouring states. The Study Centre is attached to Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal?s College of Education at Ponda. This College was chosen from among 68 Colleges of Education in the Southern Region which had applied for the Study Centre. This course, through distance education, is meant for inservice teachers who have put in atleast 2 years of service in a school. Dr. Louis Vernal Principal
