Visitors will have a unique opportunity of viewing and buying art in
heritage houses, with a backdrop of some exquisite Indo-Portuguese
furniture. There will also be street exhibitions and workshops conducted by
artists where the members of the public will be invited to participate.
Cartoonist Alexys has offered to do caricatures of anyone who is game.

A mix of traditional, folk as well as contemporary music and dance
performances at various times of the day with visitors being able to
experience these as they walk through the historic precinct visiting the art
galleries. This will be followed by evening music on one of the main squares
in Fontainhas.
The Fontainhas Festival will also have cafés and restaurants and along with
the permanent restaurants will provide a wide range of local culinary
experiences with seating spilling out onto the streets and squares under
colourful parasols.

The Festival will also provide an opportunity to give a facelift to the
façades of some houses. The Panaji Municipal Council is taking this
opportunity to redo the footpaths, resurface the roads, whitewash some home
facades and in general spruce the area in time for the Festival.

The area of the Festival will be in Fontainhas from the Corte de Oietero
junction to the junction near old Mustifund School. Parking for coaches and
cars will be provided at the Patto complex across the walkway from the New
Patto Complex. Local residents will be given paper stickers for their
vehicles so as not to inconvenience them. The Festival will be best enjoyed
on foot. All galleries will remain open from 10 am to 6 pm. Major
performances will start at 8 pm and end at 10 pm. For the first time in the
country, private homes will be turned into art galleries between 25th
January and 2nd February 2003 in a unique experiment that will bring
heritage homeowners closer to the art community.
