SCOPE:

1. Area : The festival will cover the Konkan region of India from 
Ratnagiri to Mangalore and extend inwards to cover District 3170 of 
Rotary Club.

2. Fruits Display: The primary focus of the fruit festival will be mango 
from Devgad Alphonso to Badami and Malcurad. Little known varieties of 
mango including juice and pickle varieties will be exhibited.

Other seasonal fruits like guava, pineapple, papaya, jack, jamun, carissa 
(Karvanda), cashew apple, rose apple, banana, chikoo (sapota), ber, 
churna, bhirand (kokum) their products and by-products of the plant like 
banana fibre ,kokum butter ,etc will be displayed.

3. Fruits competitions: Competitions will be held for various ripe 
fruits and fruit products. Rules will be circulated to collaborating 
agencies and competitors.

4. Fruits Sales: Traditional fruits vendors in Konkan area will be 
invited to sell fruits at the venue in their traditional bamboo baskets, 
leaf cones (drone / donel) and peti (wooden crates)

5. Cleanliness: Waste bins and baskets will be placed at the venue. No 
litter will be permitted. PMC will levy fines on litterbugs as an 
educational process.

6. Refreshment: Fruits based soft drink (non - aerated) fruit salads and 
cocktails will be promoted at the venue.

7. Organic farming: This will be a focus through 
demonstrations,seminars,interaction.
