SEMINARS ON MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL IN GOA
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The hazardous dumping of Bio-medical waste is
emerging as a new concern in Goa. The Bio-Medical Waste
(Management and Handling) Rules 1998 and the Goa
Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act 1996 clearly
states that as of 1st January 2003, every Hospital,
nursing home, clinic, dispensary, veterinary institution,
animal house, pathological lab. and blood bank in Goa,
is required to dispose of their waste in a 'safe' method
and clearly stipulates the procedures around the
creation and disposal of such waste.
As a follow-up to the Awareness Workshops organized
in May 2000 Goa Desc Resource Centre is organizing
a series of seminars for various target groups in collaboration
with HOPES and the Mumbai Medwaste Action Group,
to share national and international experiences and expertise.
GOA DESC invites you to register for any one of the
3 SEMINARS applicable to you;
(1) Date: 22 Feb Saturday
