Barking pet dogs may seldom bite, but when they do, their owners may end up whining instead. In an incident at Beloy-Nuvem on Wednesday, four pet dogs belonging to one Prasad Jain bit a female labourer, who was proceeding to cashew plantations.
Police informed that Laxmi Bhonsle was bitten several times on her legs, hands and other parts of the body by four pet dogs, who pounced on the woman, leaving her black and blue, even as she screamed for help, writhing in pain.
In this connection, Maina Curtorim police acting on a complaint has booked Jain
for negligence and failing to take care of his dogs. A case under Section 289 of IPC
stands registered against the accused. The woman who was admitted to Hospicio
has now been shifted to GMC.
