WAR ON IRAQ OR SADDAM ?
With the present debate at the United Nations concerning Russia, President Putin is trying to save his neck for supplying sophisticated equipment and arms to Iraq, and I feel that the arms are still being supplied through some other outlets that have access to Iraqi boarders, to which Russia says it has no knowledge regarding any such deal, but at the same time it says that a third source might have supplied the same, but how? Didn�t the Russian intelligence have any idea concerning the outgoing shipment of sophisticated equipment and arms? Its not a hair pin that could be smuggled out of Russia that easily.
After the 1991 Gulf War Russia, France, Germany & China have kept US & UK out of reach and secured huge contracts in Iraq for development and reconstructing the 1991 war torn nation and have also supplied with prohibited technology in order to keep their good relations intact.
The three permanent members of UN have objected on striking Iraq and the brute regime of Saddam right from the start, and wanted that the UN inspections be carried on since Saddam had started to cooperate with the UN inspectors, it's his usual game of cat and mouse, he has been playing this game for the past 12 years with the United Nations, and none of the present objecting nations said a word but kept their lips sealed. The fact is Saddam Husein had 12 years to fully comply with the UN, and 18 resolutions to disarm all weapons of mass destruction, which he never did. Where were the objectors at that moment to give stern warning to Saddam to fully comply or face with the consequences? Now that US along with UK has taken action for non compliance and playing his dirty game with the world-body (UN), there are many who are objecting on basis of difference. Among others President Putin has made a lot of noise concerning war on Iraq. If we observe minutely Moscow defends the Iraqi people�s right for peace, but at the same time denies that same right to the people of Chechnya by refusing to pull out his troops from the breakaway Republic of Chechnya.
As we all can see for ourselves how Russia, France, Germany & China are objecting on the invasion of Iraq and finishing the cruel reign of Saddam. Ask yourself a general question, where were these nations to uplift their voices and object against Saddam when he used Biological and Chemical weapons to kill thousands of Kurds, and even his own people who objected to his rude Governance, and what about the invasion of Kuwait in 1991? Why don�t these supportive nations let Saddam know that he is absolutely wrong for using innocent civilians specially the children as human shield against the coalition forces in order to protect himself and his family?
I�m not a politician or a war analyst, what I actually feel is that these nations that are supporting and trying to protect Saddam from his down fall are not very much interested in the welfare of Iraq and its people but their main interest is to acquire more contracts for their own benefit. The present war is to liberate the people of Iraq from the clutches of brute Saddam�s regime and not a invasion to occupy Iraq, I feel that the Iraqi people need to be liberated and be given a better standard of living as every human being deserves it.
