The Panchayat Raj Cell of Peaceful Society in association with the Goa Desc Resource Centre will be conducting a workshop on the topic "Gram Sabhas in Goa after the 73rd Constitutional Amendment" on
DATE: Saturday 31st May 2003 TIME: 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. VENUE: T. B. Cunha Hall (opp.Azad Maidan) Panjim.
The workshop will discuss various issues and recommendations pertaining to the gram sabhas in Goa ten years after the 73rd constitutional amendment. The discussion will take into consideration various view points like those from academicians, political party's, panchayat functionaries, social action groups and gram sabha members from Goa.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Peter R De Souza, Head of the Department of Political Science, Goa University and Dr. Aureliano Fernandes, Reader, Department of Political Science, Goa University will present an understanding about the Gram Sabha.
