Dear Music Lovers, Memories of Shanker Jaikishan - An audiovisual presentation programme in aid of the veteran music artiste SHRI DATTARAM WADKAR Music Director & Assistant to Shanker Jaikishan. On Saturday, April 26, 2003 we are proposing to hold a music presentation program in aid of the veteran music artist Shri Dattaram Wadkar - assistant to the famous music director duo Shanker Jaikishan. April 26 is the death anniversary of Shanker. The revenues from this entire project would go to Music Director Dattaram as a special recognition for his contribution to the Golden Era of Hindi Film Music. The program will be held at the Amphitheatre of Fergusson College, Pune and would consist of an audio visual presentation by Dr. Padmanabh Joshi, scientist with ISRO Ahmedabad and author of the Gujarati biography - Shanker Jaikishan - Sadabahar Sangeetna YugSarjak. We intend to issue Donation passes for this program at Rs.100 each. We also intend to collect individual contributions in aid of Dattaram. (These would be from Hindi film music lovers in Pune and other places, including contributions from Indians residing overseas.) All the funds would be deposited in a special account created for the purpose with the Law College Road Branch of HDFC Bank, Pune. The current account number is 0072000007547 All music lovers are invited to contribute for this purse. Any amount is welcome and would be graciously accepted. Rarely do get an opportunity to respond and give a "daad" to our favorite artistes whose work give us so much joy & happiness. Non Resident Indians could collect funds jointly and send them in by telegraphic transfer. Preferably, you are requested to send the funds in through any relative / friend based in India.
