The above information is false. ACTH is a hormone present in every normal human being. 
Deficiency of ACTH can lead to serious illness and death if not treated. Rezulin was a 
drug used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It became obsolete because modern 
medical scientists and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration evaluated its safety 
using the scientific method, and found that there was a reasonable doubt about its 
safety. 

On the other hand, in Ayurveda there is a drug called cowdung (which was used by our 
grandfathers and great grandfathers, and their wives) which has been found to be quite 
unsafe even by anecdotal evidence. But it has still not become obsolete.
