I just want to clarify the reference to Human Genome Diversity Project (HGDP) above. The research studies that have been funded by the governments of various countries and international private foundations have been funded independently of the HGDP. HGDP is an ongoing effort to organize the data obtained, under one umbrella. It has currently received funding primarily from U. S. governmental agencies and foundations.
