Is anyone bothered to note down the hue and cry on the net about the 
implementation of Rs. 20/ to Rs. 50/- as airport tax at Dabolim 
International Airport?  I’m pretty sure that none of the above will never 
ever be implemented by DGA or the Goa government of Manohar Parrikar and the 
BJP, until the Indian Navy moves out from the Dabolim International Airport.

For many years passed, Dabolim Airport is better knows as Dabolim 
International Airport of Goa to the whole world. But why DIA is still kept 
backward?  What are the reasons not to have the modern infrastructure and 
developments? Why it takes so long to Indian Navy to moves out of the 
Dabolim International Airport since Indian Navy made a new biggest base at 
one of the Goa’s Islands – Angandeva.

Yes we heard that the Dabolim International Airport is voted India's third 
best in an Indian national passenger survey. And what is the use if our 
Dabolim International Airport is still backward? Yeah, we heard that another 
International Airport will be constructed soon at MOPA. Is it for Goan or 
the Maharastra and Karnataka resident? Instead of having new International 
Airport at MOPA why can’t the Goa government renovate / modify the existing 
Dabolim International Airport?

Through some source we know that Indian Navy is not allowing the incoming 
flights to land as per the schedule and that’s why the all incoming flights 
are only schedule to land during the noon time only. The only flight is 
allowed to land during the early morning is the Kuwait bound flight. My 
friends always ask me that ‘Is Indian Navy was stationed before the 
construction of Dabolim Airport or the Dabolim Airport before the Indian 
Navy. And if the Dabolim Airport was before then Indian Navy has the right 
to leave from the Dabolim Airport since they have the biggest base near 
Karwar.

The Goan NRIs are anxiously waiting to take over the Dabolim International 
Airport in their custody if the Goa government failed to renovate / develope 
the airport. Wait and see the future……
