Hi Vdidthis (whodidwhat? ... your identity is not clear): I would like to say here that the intention of the e-book was not to convince anyone to invest (or not to invest) in any particular venture. Our views are pretty clear in that e-book though, and one can hope that it helps to make at least some aspects of media functioning in today's Goa a bit more clear. As you would see from the Goajourno archives, the plan for the e-book was first announced sometime in July/August, when the current tumultous events in the Goa media was not even anticipated. It is my view that the media, like any other institution in society, should be open to critique and questioning. More so the media, because in the modern world it's a powerful institution that controls the way we think, how we view others, and what *we* define as *our* priorities. The same is true of the individuals (wo)manning the media, including myself, who's need to be accountable. One personal reason for compiling this book is that the Goa media often gets pilloried on the Net. That's fine; but the problem is this happens, most often, for the wrong or tangential reasons. The point then is: if you really want to criticise us, there are so many more serious issues to pick up on why we in the media function the way we do.
