The Ave Maria weekly published from Bombay used to carry a Konkani proverb every week. I used to clip and save them. But when I migrated to Canada, I left my files in Bombay and they are gone forever. I think evern V. Ixtt used to carry these proverbs. Like every language is enriched by its distinctive proverbs and sayings, Konkani is also provided a rich flavour by its original proverbs. Some of the Konkani proverbs convey similar meanings that proverbs in other languages do. Canadians have their own sayings. For example, on love, in French, chaque torchom trouve sa guenille. In English it means, Every dishcloth finds its rag. This is like the Dutch and English saying, Every pot finds its own cover. any equivalent for it in Konkani?
