Sachin,

No need to apologize. I got exactly what you were trying to say. That is why I
provided a couple of specific examples in a follow-up post. If you missed that post,
here are those examples, along with four additional ones.

1. Passing of a law to ban cow slaughter.
2. Forcing universities to teach Vedic astrology.
3. Deleting important historical facts from NCERT high school textbooks because they
are hurtful to Hindu pride.
4. Inserting Hindu mythological events as historical facts in these textbooks.
5. Inserting fabricated religious nonsense into these textbooks, such as Homer cribbed
from Ramayana to write his Iliad.
6. Forcing the Archeological Survey of India to authenticate that the Babri Masjid was
a Ram Mandir.

Here are links to two scholarly articles on how pervasive and blatant this religious
manipulation of public policy, education and academic research has become, in our
homeland today:

I doubt there is anybody on Goanet who would want to defend such practices - even
among the religious types, although I realize that the latter may be simply because
this manipulation is not Biblical in nature. People tend to be very hypocritical in
such matters, especially the fundamentalists. They only speak of secularism when
somebody else is trying to impose their religious ideas on them, not when they are
trying to do the same on others.

Cheers,

Santosh
