Presently equipped with only furniture, the office along with the entire GMC complex would soon get a face lift, after undergoing its renovation and painting work. The opening of the office has given physical shape to the IFFI activities which till date were restricted to paperwork. The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, the information secretary, Ms Jayashree Raghuraman, the managing director of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), Mr Rajib Sen and the nodal officer for IFFI infrastructure development, Mr Sanjeet Rodrigues visited the office on its opening day. The core committee, infrastructure development committee and other sub-committees constituted by the state government for IFFI would henceforth hold their meetings at the IFFI office. It is expected that the meeting of the IFFI core committee which is scheduled on November 15, will give its consent to the decisions of the infrastructure development committee regarding various constructions, entertainment policy for IFFI, development of the city and so on. It is also expected that the chief consultant and the chief architect for raising the IFFI infrastructure would be selected by the end of this month. Meanwhile, advertisements would be published in the newspapers during next week, with a view to appoint the staff at the IFFI office, including media advisor, media assistant, public relation officer, engineers, architects, graphic designers, traffic organiser, receptionist, telephone operator, etc. The interviews would also be immediately conducted for filling up these posts.
