Painting expo at KA: PANJIM (HND) Kala Academy will exhibit paintings by children from November 28 to 30, at its art gallery. It will be inaugurated by Jayashree Raghuraman, IAS secretary (Culture) on Friday, at 4 pm. The inaugural function will be followed by the prize distribution of the children painting competition. The prize winners will be awarded with the prizes/certificates by Ms Raghuraman. Drawings expo at Guirim: PANJIM (HND) The drawings exhibition of the participants of the competition organised by the Lions Club of Mapusa have will be exhibited at Hotel Green Park, Guirim-Mapusa on November 29 between 6 to 8 pm. Aldona civic forum meet: PANJIM (HND) The Aldona Civic and Consumer Forum will have its general meeting of consumers on November 29 at 4.30 pm at St Thomas Girls High School, Aldona. Among the issues to be discussed are complaint procedures to Food & Drug Administration on detection of fake medicines, safety Camp for LPG consumers of Hindustan Petroleum, review of Electricity and PWD services to the village, Identity Cards for Senior Citizens and follow up of resolutions of the gram sabha. Xavier alumni meet: PANJIM (HND) The second meeting of BMX-Goa (Britto's Mary's Xavier's) will be held on November 30, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Seminar Hall of St Xavier's College, Mapusa. Xavier's Principal Newman Fernandes will also attend this meeting. Meanwhile, on December 7, St Xavier's College will host a lunch meeting for its alumni. Students of Std XI and XII upto 1989, when the HSS was a 'section' of the college, are also eligible. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, an alumni of Xavier's will also to attend the event. Rally in Canacona: PANJIM (HND) A rally will be organised at Chaudi-Canacona to commemorate World AIDS Day on December 1. It will be followed by a street play and a mass gathering at fish market. It is being organised by Francois-Xavier Bagnoud India. A similar rally will be organised at Zuarinagar. Exhibition on AIDS: PANJIM (HND) Tuberculosis Association of Goa will organise an exhibition on AIDS and TB, consisting of national and international publications, posters, stickers, leaflets, magazine, press clippings, video cassettes on AIDS and TB, collected since 1981, on December 1. The exhibition will remain open in the premises of the Tuberculosis Association of Goa, 403, Nizari Bhavan, Panjim, from December 1 to 31. Poster contest on Dec 2: PANJIM (HND) Rishta a support group for people affected by HIV/AIDS is organising an inter-school poster painting competition and a T-shirt painting competition for the NGOs in Goa. Inter school poster painting competition: on December 2, from 10 am to 12 noon at Mermaid Garden, Opp Panjim Residency, near Secretariat, Panjim. T- shirt painting competition: on December 8 from 10 am to 12 noon at Panjim Municipal Garden, near Panjim church. Xavier Utsav: PANJIM (HND) St Xavier's College, Mapusa will organise a three-day Xavier Utsav from December 8 to 10, at 5 pm. Goa's topmost bands Renegades, Cream, Artwork, Lynx, Crimson Tide and the Big City Band will be in attendance. Healthy baby contest will be held on December 8, at 4 pm while a flower arrangement contest on December 9, at 4 pm. Vegetable carving contest will be held on December 10.
