I do have the following comments about the EDUCATION section notwithstanding the usual political motivations that may have led to building the institute. When you mention opportunity, I'm assuming you mean admission to the prestigious institute ?? I don't believe BITS have a policy of reservations at other locations of their institute(s). Merit is usually the only consideration. Secondly don't you believe the new institute will benefit the economy of the state - jobs at all levels at the institute, accomodation for students, travel and cash spent by students and faculty in the vicinity and around Goa. May also attract visits by high profile profs and educators. BITS Pilani has also opened doors in Dubai - http://www.bitsdubai.com . Will also serve as a motivation factor for Goan youth to excel. Maybe the Mittals or Bajajs may want to open additional educational institutes in Goa. And soon IIM and IIT could follow....... Besides tourism, people could be coming to Goa for education too. New avenues for tax revenues........and sadly misappropriation ! Nevertheless, before BITS who heard of Pilani !!
