Education is a complex phenomenon. Parents are responsible for their children. But there are adverse factors, like mass media and fashions. Children are deeply influenced by television and by peer groups. Drugs are playing havoc. Parents have their share of responsibility. But also children are self-formators. Nobody can form children to such an extent that they take away their freedom. Rather, education is communication of values. Children should be able to imbibe those values. Freedom is to be moulded through values and meaning of life. Religion has its importance in imbibing values. "Chemical make-up" cannot annihilate freedom. Ultimately children are responsible for what they are doing. They need also to be duly punished so that other young people may learn that they cannot misuse their freedom and jeopardize the lives of innocent people...
